Library Books

With the information of the world at my fingertips, it’s rare that I seek the wisdom of a library book. Though I still believe textbooks cannot be replaced by e-books, a Google search that directs me to a Wikipedia page is multitudes more convenient than a library catalog search that directs me to a cryptic message in the Dewey Decimal language. Despite how infrequently I peruse the stacks, one thing has remained the same: the closer I am to finding a book, the more emphatically my bladder says, “Hey, I have to pee.”

That is, until the book is in my hands and it changes its mind.

Tic Tacs

When I was a child, my dad would often have orange Tic Tacs in the car and I would love eating the tiny mints two-at-a-time. Today, I still eat these mints but without the same fondness; while they are delicious at first, I find that what’s stored inside the capsule is grainy and even makes my breath less than minty-fresh.

It’s funny what your breath can smell like after eating a Tic Tac, toes.

Name Tags

Name tags can tell you so much about a person. They’re not limited to name, but can include facts like age, school, or major, and implicit cues like style, cleanliness, or favorite color. They also provide convenience because they require no hands and tirelessly display personal information; what a great concept!

Mine usually tells people that I want strangers to know my name… or that I forget to take my name tag off after events.

Arthur

It has been a little over 21 years since I’ve had the pleasure of living, and through that time I’ve changed and grown so much. But in all those years, very few things have been as consistent as my enjoying PBS’s hit television series, “Arthur”.

On my trips back home even now, I still tune in at 4 PM to watch the cute aardvark and his crazy adventures.

Zephyr

The word of the day today was “zephyr”, which means “a gentle, mild breeze”. It brought back memories of a middle school spelling bee, when I was eliminated on the very same word. The person after me had “typhoon”, I was robbed of spelling glory; it seemed my victory was blown away by a zephyr.

After 6+ years, the a zephyr hit me like a typhoon.

Second Post

I’m writing this second post to my Tumblr, and I realize there’s so much pressure. What kind of style should I go with? Do I continue with one-liners? Do I write something deep? Something shallow? Where am I going to get a towel if I get wet?

I hope this post lived up to your expectations.
